CACC Championship Day Competitions2018-07-05T11:54:07+01:00
The Chilterns Association of Camera Clubs (CACC) runs four major competitions throughout the club season. The Rosebowl competition is described here. There are also annual club trophies for prints and PDIs, and an individual PDI competition, the Chilterns Hundred Members Exhibition. These last three are judged and awarded at the annual Championship Day in March.
Summary details of these competitions are presented below. Full details are available on the CACC website.

Print and Projected Championships

The Chilterns Association of Camera Clubs (CACC) holds two annual Championships, for prints and projected digital images. Each Championship is open to all clubs in the CACC. Clubs enter as a club (not individual authors) and may enter either or both Championships.

For each Championship, the club submits 15 images. These are shown individually in random order and scored on their standalone merits, not as part of a panel. Three judges each score the images out of 5 – making a top score of 15. Scores are totalled for each club to determine the winning club.

There are awards for the winning clubs and the best individual images. In addition, the Print Championship and the Projected Championship determine which two clubs are invited to represent the CACC in the PAGB InterClub Print and the PAGB InterClub Projected Championships respectively.

Chilterns Hundred Members Exhibition

This is an individual competition in which every member of a CACC club may personally enter one digital image. There are no club scores. The images are shown individually in random order and scored on their standalone merits. Three judges each score the images out of 5 – making a top score of 15.

This competition has PAGB Patronage, meaning that the judges will collectively award PAGB Gold, Silver and PAGB Bronze medals, and three PAGB ribbons.

CACC Chapionship Day Results – 2014

LBPC performed well in the Projected Championship, finishing in joint 8th position and only 10 points away from 2nd place and an invitation to the national competition later in the year (that honour went to our old sparring partners at New City PS this year). We got top marks and Judith Parry’s Judge’s Award for our image “From Venice With Love” by Tony Cashen.
