  • League: Themed Competition Results `Street Photography’ – March 2016

    The sixth, and final, internal club competition of the 2015-16 season took place on Wednesday 9 March 2016. The set subject was “Street Photography” – to which the programme notes added “As defined in Wikipedia ‘street photography’ is photography that features the human condition within public places. Street photography does not necessitate the presence of a street or even the urban environment”. The competition was judged by Don Byatt ARPS EFIAP MPAGB BPE5* from Milton Keynes (and a member of New City Photographic Society).

  • League: Open 3 Competition Results – February 2016

    The fifth internal club competition of the 2015-16 season took place on Wednesday 10 February. This was an “open” competition for both prints and projected digital images (PDIs). Entries comprised the usual wide variety of subjects, approaches and styles – covering wildlife, macro, portraiture (people and animals), landscape, candid/street, travel, abstract, monochrome and much, much more. The competition was judged by Dave Hipperson. Dave has been a keen photographer for over 40 years and a CACC (Chilterns Association of Camera Clubs) judge for over three years.

  • League: Themed Competition Results ‘Blue’ – Jan 2016

    The fourth internal club competition of the 2015-16 season took place on Wednesday 13 January 2016. The set subject was “Blue” – to which the programme notes added “Your interpretation of “blue” (and bear in mind this is a family show!)”. The competition was judged by Damon Guy of Marlow Camera Club. He said he has been “into photography” for practically all his life, but especially over the last 15 years of the digital era when he has been writing about and teaching photography. He is also the editor of Photokonnexion, a website that aims to help photographers of all abilities learn about making images and have fun.

The third internal club competition of the 2015-16 season took place on Wednesday 25 November. This was an “open” competition for both prints and projected digital images (PDIs) – “pitch your best images against the rest of the club”. As usual, the entries displayed a wide variety of subjects, approaches and styles – covering portraiture (people and pets), landscape, candid/street, architecture, wildlife, macro, abstract, monochrome and more. Our judge for this competition was Chris Forster DPAGB FBPE & MFIAP from Milton Keynes (and a member of New City Photographic Society).

League: Themed Competition Results `Flight’ – October 2015

The second internal club competition of the 2015-16 season took place on Wednesday 27 October. The set subject was “Flight” to which the programme notes added merely “… your interpretation of ‘flight’”. The competition was judged by Colin Mill of New City Photographic Society (Milton Keynes), an old friend and a regular visitor to LBPC.

League: Open 1 Competition Results – September 2015

The first internal club competition of the 2015-16 season took place on Wednesday 23 September. This was an “open” competition for both prints and projected digital images (PDIs). And, as usual, the entries displayed a wide variety of subjects, approaches and styles – covering portraiture (people and pets), landscape, candid/street, architecture, wildlife, macro, abstract, monochrome and more. Our judge for this competition was Colin Southgate FRPS from Barton-le-Clay. Colin is a regular visitor to LBPC and is a member of Harpenden Photographic Society. He has been a keen photographer for nearly 30 years with an enduring fondness for monochrome.
