    The competition was therefore run as a “webinar” via Zoom.  It was our first foray into the world of internet conferencing for our normal weekly meetings.  And it was a great success with only very minor hiccups along the way.  We are all indebted to Paul Needham who, with the assistance of a few others, did an enormous amount of work to set the conferencing up and the ringmaster the event.     This was an “open” competition for both prints and projected digital images (PDIs).  As usual, the entries displayed a wide variety of subjects, approaches and styles – including wildlife, seascape/marine, travel, landscape, portraiture, creative, colour and monochrome, and more. Our judge for this competition was Steven Galvin LRPS, a freelance photographer, judge, speaker (he visited us back in March 2018 to deliver his talk about photo manipulation), and member of Marlow Camera Club.     The set subject, for both prints and projected digital images (PDIs), was “'People”.  As usual, the entries displayed a wide variety of subjects, approaches and styles. But street/candid photography and travel shots, in both colour and monochrome, predominated.     This was an “open” competition for both prints and projected digital images (PDIs).  As usual, the entries displayed a wide variety of subjects, approaches and styles – including landscape, seascape, cityscape, portraiture, travel, animals, birds, insects, colour and monochrome, and more. Our judge for this competition was Colin Mill, a very experienced landscape photographer and member of New City Photographic Society in Milton Keynes.   • League: Themed Competition Results ‘Yellow’ – October 2019

    The set subject, for both prints and projected digital images (PDIs), was “'The Colour Yellow'.  The entries displayed an imaginative and creative assortment of subjects – including flowers, insects, lemons, peppers, wellies, fishing net, and various forms of transport – as well as a variety of styles and approaches – including still life, fine art, nature, landscape, and travel. Our judge for this competition was Dave Hipperson.  Dave has been a keen photographer for over 40 years and a CACC (Chilterns Association of Camera Clubs) judge for several years.  He is also a member of the Park Street Camera [...]

    This was an “open” competition for both prints and projected digital images (PDIs).  As usual, the entries displayed a wide variety of subjects, approaches and styles – covering landscape, seascape, architecture, portraiture, candid/street, travel, animals, insects, long exposure, monochrome, abstract and more. Our judge for this competition was Lloyd Moore CPAGB BPE3*.  He is an experienced award-winning photographer and the President of Watford Camera Club.  He prefaced his judging by recalling that, when he has previously judged at LBPC, he has been impressed by the imaginative and artistic input.  He also explained that judges these days considered 16 [...]
