  • League: Themed Competition Results ‘Hetitage’ – March 2019

    The set subject, for both prints and projected digital images (PDIs), was “Heritage” to which the programme notes added – “The history, traditions, artefacts, practices etc, of a country, society, culture. Possibly ancient monuments and buildings, museums, pancake day, Morris dancing. There are churches, sites of historical significance, such as Stonehenge. There are burial mounds, standing stones, even heritage vegetables (have a look in the supermarket). In short, anything that deserves the epithet “Heritage”.   • League: Open 3 Competition Results – February 2019

    The fifth internal club competition of the 2018-19 season took place on Wednesday 20 February. This was an “open” competition for both prints and projected digital images (PDIs). The competition was judged by Martin Patten LRPS CPAGB BPE2*, a professional photographer based in Hertfordshire.

    This was a “themed” competition for both prints and projected digital images (PDIs).  As usual, the entries displayed a wide variety of subjects, approaches and styles.     The third internal club competition of the 2018-19 season took place on Wednesday 21 November.  This was an “open” competition for both prints and projected digital images (PDIs).  As usual, the entries displayed a wide variety of subjects, approaches and styles – seascapes, landscapes, sunsets, architecture, portraits, candid/street, travel, animals, birds, insects, flowers, colour, monochrome, sepia/retro, abstract and more.   • League: Themed Competition Results ‘Natural Abstracts’ – October 2018

    The second internal club competition of the 2018-19 season took place last Wednesday, 17 October 2018., with the set subject of “Natural Abstracts”. Our judge for this competition was Julia Cleaver ARPS – a portrait photographer based in the Chilterns and a member of ImageZ Camera Club (in Weston Turville).

Print and PDI of the Year Competition Results – June 2019

As the grand climax to the 2018-19 season, our annual Print and Digital Image of the Year competitions took place on Wednesday evening (12 June 2019) with members invited to select their best work of the season. This year the two competitions were again judged by Kathy Chantler ARPS (Chairman of the ImageZ Camera Club at Weston Turville) who has visited LBPC on numerous occasions, both as a judge and as a speaker.

Howard Morris Memorial Trophy Competition Results – May 2019

On Wednesday 8th May 2019 members contested the Howard Morris Trophy. This is a biennial competition for monochrome prints established in memory of former club member Howard Morris. It is open to all club members (with no sections) who may submit two prints that have not previously been entered in any league competition.

Portfolio Competition Results – April 2019

The annual, and prestigious, LBPC Portfolio Competition took place on Wednesday 17 April 2019. Entries for this competition consist of three to five prints or digital images to be judged as a panel. This is an open subject competition, in colour or monochrome (monochrome meaning the image is developed or executed in black and white or in varying tones of only one colour). But the images must show some link – such as a common colour, subject or shape – identifiable by the judge.
